Seo Services

Philosophy

At CixxFive Concepts we take pride in delivering one of the most thorough and comprehensive SEO services on the market. Our approach to SEO is hands on and heavily relies on a team effort between us and our clients to succeed. To be able to achieve the results we do we have to be selective about our SEO clients since we’re not a fit for everyone. The biggest factor in choosing our clients is finding business owners that understand SEO is an investment and not a cost. We are not the cheapest digital marketing agency, the quality of our service prevents that, but we make sure that when we do take a client’s money we are confident we can get them an ROI. We expect all of our clients to take an interest in their SEO campaign strategy and SEO in general to better understand the results we achieve together.

Consultation

The first stage of our client selection process is a consultation. The purpose of the consultation is to find out if we are a fit to work together. During this stage of the process we do not know if we can even help your business out but it is our job to get to know your business well enough to determine if both SEO and CixxFive are a good fit for you. A few of the things we take into consideration are:

Rapport: SEO is a team sport so a good team dynamic is very important; discovering rapport is key to finding long term clients.

Identify Capacity: SEO strategies can take some time to prove effective however, once a campaign gains momentum traffic can increase exponentially almost overnight. If we don’t ensure your business is capable of scaling to handle more customers we could be putting your business’ stability or reputation at risk.

Identify Goals / Set Expectations: One of the most important parts of the consultation is identifying what goals you have in mind for the campaign. If at any point in time during the consultation we determine that we will not be able to meet your desired results we will let you know to avoid wasting your time. Throughout the process, it will be our job to communicate realistic expectations of what our campaigns can do.

Budget Discovery: A lot of people feel uncomfortable talking about money but we address this matter at the beginning of our process. All of our SEO campaigns are tailor made to fit our client’s businesses so knowing their budget is crucial to developing a campaign that makes sense.

Confirm Commitment: When we first talk to prospective clients they generally believe that they want to try SEO because they have heard about its effectiveness. However, once they find out the truth about SEO campaigns, about the time commitment, the financial investment and the necessary engagement the majority decide it is not for them.

By the end of the consultation we reach a consensus on whether it makes sense or not to put a proposal together.

Market Research

Once we have decided it makes sense to put a proposal together it becomes our job to do the market research. This stage is required to figure out if there is enough ROI potential to justify an SEO campaign. Our process in determining this involves researching the following points:

Customer Profiling: The most important part of market research is to determine accurate targeting for your campaign. Although targeting the right people online is a lot more complex than just profiling your ideal customer, the ideal customer profile is an important starting point from which we use data to create adjustments. Who is looking for your product or service? Is it females over the age of 25 with interest in skin care or maybe it’s boyfriends and husbands looking for gifts. If your product/service fits the first description then your customer may be looking for a “free sample” sign up that could turn into return business. If your product/service fits the latter profile then your profiled customer may be more likely to purchase before the holidays or special occasions. What’s important to notice is that marketing and especially SEO is not a one size fits all solution, all of our strategies have to be tailored to maximize conversion which means getting to know your customer.

Keyword Research: Once we’ve determined an ideal customer profile for your business it is time to do the keyword research. The keyword research consists of breaking down your business and individually categorizing every different product/service you sell and phrases you want to be found for. Doing the keyword research involves using tools to find and group keywords relevant to your business based on subject and ranking difficulty. Through doing the keywords research we are able to gauge the SEO potential in your industry and it is key in figuring out if a campaign has a good chance of getting an ROI.

User Intent: Once the keyword research is done the list of keywords needs to be scrubbed for user intent. If you sell diamonds then the customer that google searches “engagement rings” is infinitely more valuable to you than the customer that types in “diy rings”. The reason for this is that the intent behind typing “engagement rings” in google is wanting to see engagement ring options which is a purchasing behaviour vs “diy rings” whose intent is not to purchase. This is an important distinction many amateur and professional SEO techs still miss. Making sure your keyword list, that will eventually be used for targeting, is accurate and checked for user intent can significantly help increase conversion down the road.

Competitor Analysis: The final component of the market research is competitor analysis. Competitor analysis is a great way to see who is having success ranking for what keywords and how they are managing to do it. We use competitor analysis to get a more in depth understanding of the state of the current online market for a specific industry. We leverage data on your competitors including traffic, keywords, backlinks, and more to polish your campaign and maximize our chances of success.

ROI Evaluation: Though no longer part of the market research this calculation is done at this stage. Once we look at your industry’s online potential it is our job to decide if we see a ROI for you if we were to take you on as a client. If at this stage we cannot find an ROI we are confident about then we do not move on to the proposal and instead talk to you about exploring different digital marketing opportunities including SEM, SMM, Email marketing and PR.

Proposal

Coming into our selection process prospective clients generally have two questions they want answered, “Can you get me a ROI?” and “Can you deliver on what you say you can?”. It is our job to ensure that any client that makes it past the consultation stage is committed to working with us if we are able to answer those questions in the affirmative. The proposal is where those questions get answered and we decide if we do business together. The proposal stage consists of a 4 step process:

Strategy Creation: After doing the market research, if we are confident we can get you an ROI, we proceed with creating your campaigns strategy within your budget. A campaign’s strategy will account for all the moving pieces in SEO and harness them to the campaign’s purpose. The moving pieces include local listings, influencer outreach, blog/content creating, page building and many more. Reviewing a website’s technical errors and UI are also done at this step to determine a setup cost.

Formal Proposal Creation: The proposal creation is the point in the process where our Digital Strategists truly shine. CixxFive Concept proposals consist of more than just a project description and invoice. Our proposals include detailed information on the keyword research, campaign strategy and ROI projections for your campaign

Proposal Presentation: Once the proposal has been completed you will meet with one of our Digital Strategists to go over the proposal. All of our proposal presentations are done in person or over a conference call while screen sharing. The proposals are presented in this manner because of the importance we place on transparency. We want our prospective clients to be making thought out decisions that they will not have second thoughts of. Going over the proposal together and being able to answer doubts and explain anything not easily understandable to the client is key to the good start of a relationship.

Send/Sign Agreement: Having gone over the proposal together and answering all questions a client may have about the partnership we send you both the proposal and an agreement by mail. Once the agreement is signed, that gives us the green light to start working on the setup of your campaign.

Setup

The purpose of the setup stage for any campaign is to maximize results. To deliver on the ROI we are projecting there are two things we pay close attention to throughout your campaign: traffic and conversion. If we cannot get traffic to your website or convert the traffic that does come to your website then we will not be getting you business. Getting traffic involves optimizing for SEO, while converting traffic involves optimizing UX/UI (user experience / user interface). At this stage we take your website, and all of its data, and optimize it to get and convert traffic.

How we optimize for traffic

URL Mapping and Deep Keyword Research: The keyword research that was done in the market research stage was preliminary and only meant to determine if there could be a ROI. At this point in the process we do deep keyword research. Deep Keyword Research involves not only finding root keywords but also all their LSI variations for both geotargeted and non-geotargeted searches. Once a finalized list of keywords is compiled our SEO techs categorize the list and map out your website based on your customer’s search behaviour. This ensures that different pages on your website are not competing against each other for certain keywords and that the mapping does not confuse Google crawl bots.

Fix Technical Issues: There are many technical factors that influence your website’s ranking in search. If your site has any of these technical issues Google will automatically assume that they are a problem for your site’s user experience and penalize you. It is important to stay on top of fixing these factors as they often change with Google algorithm updates.

Local Listing Info Gathering: Local Listings are an integral part of local SEO and will affect your business’ ranking on Google Map Results. Though it may sound simple, this is one of the most commonly messed SEO optimizations. We gather your information to ensure that once we do a listing distribution your company’s information is consistent throughout so that your trust factor will rise with Google.

Content Strategy: A business’ content strategy is the most important part of branding and generating traffic. Content serves the dual purpose of both generating traffic by being something that is commonly shared and converting traffic by giving your business an opportunity to generate trust and interest. Having a strategic content strategy in place is very important to any SEO campaign.

How we optimize for Conversion

UI/UX: The most important thing to think about when designing a website is what the user’s experience will be when they get to your site. How did they get here? What are they looking for? What do they care about? Only by tailoring this experience and refining it through data can you ensure you keep your bounce rate non-existent and give yourself every chance to convert your traffic. UI/UX is key to optimization for SEO since a website can be optimized for hundreds of keywords all bringing in traffic with a large variety of intents. Customers only ever convert on their own terms so it is important that from the time they get to your site their user experience is designed for them to convert.

Page Creation and Optimization: Whenever we do a URL mapping for a client it is common that they do not have the necessary pages to run an SEO campaign; we take care of creating those pages. We also optimize all pages that had keywords mapped out to them to make sure they will match their user’s intent, be indexed correctly and that the internal linking maximizes our crawl budget.

Data Tracking: This is the part in the process that makes us a data driven marketing agency and gives our customers an edge over the competition. Using tools like Analytics, Search Console and Tag Manager we track all interactions user have when they are on the site. By setting custom goals for tracking data like scroll distance, nav element clicks, button clicks, form views and submissions we are able to continuously improve our client’s campaign based on real data on thousands of customer interactions a day.

Launch

After the setup is complete your SEO campaign is ready to launch. Once your campaign is launched your business’ listings will be distributed and we will work on executing your content campaign, doing influencer outreach, finding your business editorial links and niche link building.

The start of your campaign is only the beginning. At this point just sit back and expect your first monthly report. As we monitor the data we will update the campaign the ensure that we are always maximizing both traffic and conversion.

On-Page

URL Mapping: Using the keyword list compiled during the keyword research we group keywords based on similarity and intent to map out every page of your website to attract specific types of traffic.

Meta data optimization: Optimizing your meta data is most important for user experience but can also play a role in the indexing of your site. We optimize your meta data to increase the rate of direct responses on your website.

Rich data structuring: Rich data is useful for many reasons, one among them being that it allows you more control over how your business appears on Google Search. Adding reviews and other markup to your appearances in SERP can make you appear more professional and give you the edge you need over the competition. Rich data is the perfect way to turn data into a trust factor.

Sitemap / Robots.txt: In layman’s terms the idea behind SEO is to make sure your website is correctly indexed by google and that it is categorized as relevant to your target keywords. To accomplish the first step of being correctly indexed you must submit your sitemap, basically a wireframe of your site, to Google so that they know where to send their robots to crawl. The robots.txt file for a site is a file that robots read to find out what they have permission to do when they crawl a site. It is important to make sure you have an up-to-date robots.txt file to give google crawl robots instructions.

Content Optimization: There are many factors that go into content optimization. Some of the most important factors of content optimization are keyword formatting, h1-h2 headlines, h3-h6 headlines and internal linking. Content optimization also includes UI design to ensure a positive user experience and conversions

Technical errors: Technical errors are errors with either the crawl-ability, indexing or security of your site. Common factors that need to be considered when fixing technical errors are too long redirect chains, broken links, multiple site versions, rel canonical issues, site speed and css/html that cannot be minified. Recently, Google has also suggested that in the near future any site that is not secure (does not have SSL) will be penalized in the rankings.

Off-Page

A large portion of the monthly time we spend on our client’s campaigns is dedicated to link acquisition. By acquiring links on other websites that point to pages on your website we can help raise Google’s trust in you and increase your domain’s authority. Our link acquisition strategy works in tandem with our content strategy to ensure we’re publishing meaningful and engaging content. Some of the major components of Off-Page are: Influencer Outreach, Community Engagement, Content Repurposing, Niche Link Building, Competitor Shadowing, and Broken Link Building.

Influencer Outreach

: As part of our SEO service we will reach out to publications and editorials to get you featured. Being a contributing source for articles can get your business exposure and your website a good authority referral. We’re constantly looking for opportunities to increase our client’s sphere of influence.

Community engagement:

Another way to acquire links is through community engagement. Participating in comment sections, joining the conversation on forums and keeping connected on social media will help create social bookmarks and social signals for your business.

Content repurposing:

Besides strategizing, writing and publishing your blog content we also repurpose your content to use across multiple media including personal social accounts and distribution across RSS Feeds and niche websites.

Niche link building:

Niche link building is a very effective method of link acquisition because the referring website will usually share keywords with your own website. Links like this can let google know you’re part of a certain community and can help you rank for keyword groups you are not even optimizing for. Niche link building is also a great way to develop a reputation and create a following that could bring you return business.

Conversion Optimization

Set goals with tag manager:

Conversion Optimization is the most important part of our process and is what makes us the best. Using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics we can set up your website to have custom goals to compile actionable data. By setting custom goals for tracking data like scroll distance, nav element clicks, button clicks, form views and submissions we are able to continuously improve your campaign based on real data on thousands of customer interactions a day. The following are some of the major aspects we focus on for conversion.

Analyze behavioral flow:

A website’s user behaviour flow is important to tracking which pages have to be prioritized in optimization. By tracking behaviour flow we can know how many users came to a page and how many users dropped off a page. The KPIs we monitor in behaviour flow are Drop Off Points and Bounce Rate. Drop Off Points let us know which pages aren’t keeping users engaged and bounce rate lets us know how effective our UX is at capturing new visitors. A good bounce rate is under 10% but we have achieved monthly bounce rates of under 1% for clients in the past.

UI/UX Updates:

Using the behaviour flow of your website to identify your drop off points and using Tag Manager to see how users interact with these pages helps us get data to update the UI/UX of pages based on user intent and behaviour patterns. By leveraging the data of user interactions on the site we can engineer a user’s behaviour to increase the rate of conversion.

Improve KPIs and Goals:

With all this data at our hands the obvious question would be well what do we track? And the answer is, it all depends. Every campaign is different and our tracking goals can change month to month or even more often depending on how much actionable data we get from users on your site. Whenever any UI/UX changes are made goals have to be completely reset to have a clean data set and accurately gauge our success rate. By constantly improving our goals and KPIs to track the most relevant data we are able to keep your website’s performance at peak conditions.

Client Reporting

At CixxFive Concepts we strongly believe that the only way to work together as a team is to be completely transparent. Our effort at transparency is ongoing and involves making sure there is an understanding between our businesses about what we’re doing and where we’re going. We achieve this by covering the following points on our reporting.

Keyword Rankings:

Your keywords are what will get you found on Google so their rankings are what matter! Every month we will give you an updated list showing you previous and current month keyword rankings so that you can see the progression of our SEO campaign.

Links Acquired:

We will send you a monthly list of mentions and publications we were able to get your website. These will be all your acquired links. More information on what kind of links you will be getting please read the Off-Page section above.

KPI Tracking:

Our monthly report will include data on KPIs that we monitor including bounce rate, user acquired, pageviews and other engagement quantifiers.

Continued Education:

We believe the most important factor in achieving total transparency with our clients is by continuing to educate them on SEO. Only clients that have a good understanding of SEO can truly appreciate the quality of our service and the results we get. As part of our jobs we try to educate our clients on their campaigns and make sure they know what is going on and that all their doubts are answered.
